T-Rex vice from Allmatic Jakob

Allmatic Jakob has developed the compact, universal T-Rex high pressure vice. T-Rex permits free access for tools on all sides, and is particularly suitable for flame and saw cutting and castings.

T-Rex will hold workpieces with a clamping width of 26 - 186 mm or a diameter of 65 - 228 mm, in its standard form. The XL version can hold clamping widths of 26 - 365 mm and diameters of 65 - 390 mm. The combination of movable pivot jaw and rotating gripper inserts allows safe & stable holding of a wide range of workpiece shapes and cuts down on time lost through adjustment.

T-Rex vice and workholdingAmongst Stocdon’s most successful applications for T-Rex vices was an installation for a championship winning F1 team, where the difficulty they encountered was finding workholding for 5-axis machining of aluminium and titanium with a high enough pressure.

Stocdon provides support and service for all of their tooling, supplying vices, jaws and spare parts, in most cases from stock, they will ensure that the product is totally right for the customer.

As there’s no substitute for a demonstration, Allmatic vices hit the streets with a ‘road show’, bringing all variations of Allmatic workholding to the workplace, to advise on the best vices or configurations - ‘try before you buy’.

Continuing success with the rest of the Allmatic range of vices is evident in particular at a major user in Warwick, Integrated Hydraulics who now have a large number of Allmatic NC single vices kitting out their vertical machining centres. For progressive machining, each pallet carries a subplate and three of these vices, each fitted with step jaws, accommodating different component lengths by the simple operation of manually turning the jaws around. A power intensifier, integral to each vice gives between one and four tonnes pressure which ensures safe and even clamping, whatever the position or size of component.

Stocdon’s bottom line is to guarantee the end user that they are in possession of tooling and workholding that helps increase their production while avoiding making costly mistakes of scrapped materials or inferior results.
