Computer-aided inspection software from Geomagic provides integrated workflow for users of multi-sensor metrology systems Geomagic has released Qualify 10, the new computer-aided inspection software for users of multi-sensor metrology systems.
Geomagic Qualify takes advantage of digital shape sampling and processing (DSSP) to enable fast, easy-to-understand graphical comparisons between CAD models and as-built parts. It is used worldwide to save time and increase accuracy for first-article inspection, inline or shop-floor inspection, MRO, trend analysis, 2D and 3D dimensioning, and automated reporting.

"Qualify 10 supports XP and Vista, and the 64-bit edition takes full advantage of extended memory" |
The software is certified by PTB, ANFIA, and major customers such as Honeywell, Fiat, General Motors and Pratt & Whitney.
Qualify 10 streamlines workflow, improves alignment accuracy, and provides comprehensive inspection coverage for users who want to take advantage of the combined strengths of 3D scanners and hard probes. A single interface enables users to perform a complete inspection of every type of shape and feature that characterises an object, saving time and increasing inspection accuracy.
New capabilities enable users to quickly detect and inspect geometrical features such as points, holes, slots, cones, cylinders, planes and spheres. The software automates feature creation and tasks, including calculating size, analysing fit, comparing 2D and 3D features and measuring point-to-point and feature-to-feature distances and angles.
A new streamlined feature framework enables users to more efficiently analyse, measure and report dimensional characteristics and fitting statistics of geometrical features. Hard probing and 3D feature capabilities are fully integrated with alignment, GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing) and 2D and 3D dimensioning functions that are popular with users of scanning systems that generate dense point clouds.
Qualify 10 also supports 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Vista. The 64-bit edition of Qualify enables users to take advantage of the expanded memory capacity of 64-bit computer systems to process huge datasets generated by the newest generation of non-contact 3D scanners.
“Geomagic Qualify 10 will allow us to take advantage of the best features of hard probes and 3D scanners while maintaining a single, intuitive workflow,” said Rus Emerick, a process improvement specialist. “The 3D feature capabilities in Geomagic Qualify 10 will close the 3D digital loop. We’ll be able to do everything – design, engineer and inspect – within a 3D environment.”
“With the new hard probing features in Qualify 10, we can now align the part much faster and with confidence,” commented Sman Hansrisuk, a reverse engineering expert. “We can also measure prismatic features with a probe just like in conventional CMM. I have no doubts that the new features in Geomagic Qualify 10 will help us gain significant productivity.”
The software ships with both 32-bit and 64-bit editions on the CD, and supports English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese languages. Customers with active maintenance can download the Qualify 10 upgrade from Geomagic’s portal https://portal.geomagic.com.
